Mat McCosker has worked in the visual-effects industry for the past 20 years or so.
From working on independent Australian films such as Mimi, directed by Warwick Thornton, through to the more mainstream films such as Harry Potter, Superman, The Knowing and the Guardians of Ga'Hoole - he remains interested in the full production spectrum for various creative and story-telling possibilities.
His roles have been varied and have covered most of the post-production pipeline from concept art through to final composite and grade.
Mat McCosker was head of CG at the Australian Film Television and Radio School, as well as an instructor there for many years. He has also been a guest lecturer at several film universities outside Australia.
As an "un-digital-artist" he sketches and sculpts - the sculptures mainly using a lot of discarded and recycled plastic.
