I’m a (VES) VFX & CG professional, with 25 years of experience across feature live action & animation. I’m comfortable operating flexibly as a VFX Supervisor, Compositing Supervisor or Lead Artist. Whether it’s Supervising on set or supporting VFX teams to hit deadlines, I thrive in the collaborative space. I embrace planning, preparation & keeping ahead of the schedule - with a focus on getting the groundwork in early to make for a great final image. I am flexible in adapting to various studios workflows with a strong attention to detail.
My creative eye is well developed from years of work as a compositor & various CG roles. I speak directly to artists & VFX technicians in their language, briefing well & providing consistent follow-up. I strive for interdepartmental & project-wide efficiencies. I've held a number of senior roles working directly with clients & department leads.
I’ve worked with a number of major studios such as Double Negative, Animal Logic, Flying Bark, Photon, Cutting Edge & Fin Design as well as with many agencies & independent production companies. I’ve also owned & managed smaller studios, & am proud to have supported the career launch of a number of other industry professionals.
I’m a big fan of supporting the next generation. As an educator in the film industry, I was Head of Animation at the Australian Film, Television, & Radio School (AFTRS), as well as a lecturer at Teesside University (Middlesbrough), SAE Sydney, Sydney TAFE & UNSW.
I believe that the creative collaboration in CG & VFX is best conducted by leaders who are able to keep the production on task whilst allowing individual artists to give their best performance.
